What is Reiki?Reiki, (pronounced Ray-key) is a Japanese word meaning “Universal Life Energy”. It is a healing method that was rediscovered in ancient Sanskrit texts by a Japanese scholar, Dr Mikao Usui, at the end of the
19th century. This fascinating healing technique draws on the energy that surrounds us to heal both ourselves and others. When energy is channeled into the body it can activate the body’s ability to heal itself. As the healing is energy channeling, it is a non-intrusive therapy, it has no association with religion, faith, or belief systems and can be received by anyone who is willing to be healed. |
What does a treatment involve?A treatment usually lasts about an hour. You remain fully clothed
and can receive the energies while sitting or lying down. The healer will gently place their hands in various positions on, or just above, your body. You may feel a pleasant sensation of warmth, coolness or tingling. A healing treatment is usually very relaxing. It can be an opportunity for emotional release, a chance to talk, or you may simply fall asleep! It can take a few days for the energies to be assimilated. During this time you may feel revitalised or temporarily a little worse - a good sign that you are releasing the cause of your symptoms. Everyone’s reaction is different, no two healing treatments are the same, and the benefits can be many.... |

The Principles of Reiki
Just for today,
I will let go of anger.
Just for today,
I will let go of worry.
Just for today,
I will give thanks for my many blessings.
Just for today,
I will do my work honestly.
Just for today,
I will be kind to my neighbour
and every living thing.
